e-Filing is now available in the Huron County Court of Common Pleas, General Division.
Below are the instructions for filing:
e-Filing is available for attorneys and Pro se litigants thru Henschen & Associates e-Filing portal.
Complete and sign all required documents. Failure to complete the documents completely may result in them being rejected. All documents must provide an e-mail address.
Scan completed documents separately into a location you have access to such as a drive on your computer or a flash drive.
Access the e-filing system at efile.henschen.com. Following the “e-Filing User Guide” register, sign in and file your documents. Any problems with the e-Filing system will have to go through the e-Filing program. The Clerk’s office cannot assist with the program.
Once you have e-Filed your documents you will receive a confirmation that “Your filing is complete and will be sent to the Court.” The court will notify the e-Filer by email as to the status of filing completion. If something is rejected, you will need to follow-up with the appropriate corrections and/or forms that need to be completed. Failure to do so may result in the case being dismissed and loss of deposit. Check your email frequently.
Note: The e-Filing is not considered “filed” until the Court processes the document.
You will be notified by the Court of any future hearings.
We allow e-Filing 24/7. However our local rules (16.07) state:
Time of Filing
All e-filed documents shall be considered filed with the Clerk of Courts as of the date and time the Clerk of Courts accepts the document, which shall be noted by the date and time stamp on the first page of the e-filed document. Because all electronically filed documents are subject to clerk review to determine whether said document is accepted, the effective date and time may differ from the submitted date and time. Electronic filing does not alter or extend applicable statutes of limitation.
The office of the Clerk of Courts will be deemed open to receive e-filed documents on the same days and times the Clerk of Courts is regularly open for business, despite the date and time an e-filer submits a document. In the event an e-filing is made after 430 p.m. on a regular business day or anytime on a weekend or legal holiday, the e-filing shall be considered filed only upon acceptance by the Clerk of courts as provided in Loc. R. 16.07.
